Key Ledges
A sleek and winsome way to keep tabs on your car keys. Mounted magnetically to your fridge, or attached to your wall, these hardwood key ledges are available in either exposed or concealed magnet variations. The embedded powerful rare earth magnets effortlessly support heavy key rings, notes, grocery lists, or whatever else magnetic you’re inclined to throw its way. The organic front contour is designed to prevent passerby’s from knocking off your hanging attachments. A 3/4" wide groove runs the top length, ideal for placing pens & pencils, outgoing mail, and other objects designed to be within easy reach. You can now impress your friends with invisible force, while remembering exactly where you put your keys.

These key ledges are selected from only the finest hardwoods. After cutting, drilling, and shaping, the magnets are then precisely inserted and the ledges hand sanded to a very fine 400 grit. They are then given multiple coats of an oil/varnish/wax mixture. Inviting to touch, these feel like a well-rubbed instrument and will undoubtedly provide you with years of practical beauty.

Available in 16” and 21” lengths, with 2 or 3 front magnets. Exposed or concealed front magnet variations let you determine whether you want the magnets to be in or out of sight. Available species are sourced sustainably from around the world and include lignum vitae, yellowheart, tulip wood, lacewood, zebrano, purpleheart, maple, oak, and cherry.

Original to Tapwater Designs, these include a key ring as well as a lifetime guarantee. A novel way to add a touch of natural beauty to your environment, you’ll soon wonder how you ever managed without one. But what’s probably most attractive is the price. For around the amount of a month of car insurance, you will be assured to always know where you put the car keys.

Chopping Blocks
I have scoured suppliers and found a collection of some of the most colorful, dense, and durable woods in the world. These cutting boards are beautiful to look at, but above all are made to withstand years of daily use. Two oak dowels run through the width of the entire block, eliminating warp and minimizing separation of the joints. They are also given one of the most durable and non-toxic food-safe finishes possible. The boards are soaked with 4 coats of pure tung oil, and surfaced with three coats of a mineral oil and beeswax mixture. Purchase includes a 5-ounce jar of this premixed food safe finish that will ensure a durable surface for years to come. These are a novel way to add some exotic color to your kitchen. Available in 1” thick cheese serving blocks, or 1.5” thick fruit and bread chopping blocks. Species available on request. Let me design one for you, or color match your own kitchen. Starting at $1/sq. inch.

Boxes
As you can see, lines are reflected in a lot of my work. I enjoy mixing various species of wood in a way that amplifies the natural color and beauty of each species. When the rayflecks in one specie give way to the emerging sunshine pattern of a knot in the adjoining piece, I see a sublime art. By assembling a box, cabinet, or chopping block in this way, there exists more choice in the placement and matching of grain and color. The dovetailing of these corner lines also provides a skillful challenge and offers much more visual intrigue.

My jewelry and storage boxes employ the combination of shaped hand pulls, sliding lids, rare earth magnets, stitched leather handles, and removable dividers. Let me know your box request. The one show is made from Pecan Walnut, 9" x 12" x15"
